Delta Sending Out 10K SkyMiles as “Summer Goodwill Gesture”
It’s been a tough summer for airlines and their passengers. Staff shortages have resulted in many cancelled and delayed flights. Delta even offered customers free flight changes so they wouldn’t travel during the busy 4th of July weekend.
Now the airline is also sending out a “Summer Goodwill Gesture” to some SkyMiles members, in the form of 10,000 miles. Delta Air Lines sent out emails to explain this gesture, and miles are already showing up in accounts.
Here’s the text of the email:
We apologize for our recent and significant travel disruptions you experienced with us this summer. While we cannot recover the time lost and anxiety caused, we are automatically depositing 10K miles to your SkyMiles® account as a commitment to do better for you going forward and restore the Delta Difference you know we are capable of.
We treat every flight as an opportunity for us to make returning to the skies an enjoyable experience. That’s not just what we do, it’s what we believe – and we intend to deliver on that commitment on your future travels.
This email is likely going out to those who have been affected somehow by cancellations or delays in recent weeks. Check your accounts and let me know if you received a Delta Summer Goodwill Gesture, and also if you had any Delta cancellations or delays recently.
