British Airways Executive Club is offering a 35% transfer bonus when you convert hotel loyalty points into Avios. Participating hotel partners are:
- Carlson Hotels
- Hilton Hotels
- Hyatt Hotels & Resorts
- Intercontinental Hotel Group
- Marriott
- Shangri-La
- Starwood
You must convert points between now and 8 March 2017. Bonus Avios can take 4-6 weeks to show on your account from the date of conversion
Most conversion won’t make sense. SPG is probably the best option here. Starpoints transfer to Avios at a rate of 1:1 and you get a 5K bonus for every 20K points you transfer. So if you transfer 20K Starpoints, you would get 25K Avios plus 35% bonus for a total of 33,750 Avios. SPG points are pretty valuable though, so you should do your own calcuations do figure what what gives you best value.
