Citi Costco Visa Losing Extended Warranty Benefit in 2023
The two Costco credit cards, Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi and the Costco Anywhere Visa® Business Card by Citi, have an extended warranty benefit.
Both credit cards give you an extra 24 months added to your warranty when you purchase items at least in part with your Citi card. Coverage begins when the manufacturer’s warranty, or an extended warranty you bought, expires, up to a maximum of 7 years from the purchase date. There are some exclusions such as cars, boats, aircraft and any items that do not come with a manufacturer’s warranty.
But if you have relying on this extended warranty for your purchases, there’s some bad news. This benefit is going away in early 2023.
Effective January 22, 2023, the Extended Warranty benefit will be discontinued and will no longer be provided for purchases made on or after that date. Coverage for purchases made before that date will continue to be available, and you may continue to file for benefits in accordance with the current benefit terms.
