Citi Files Trademark for Citi Clear Cash
Citi has filed a U.S. trademark application for “Citi Clear Cash,” which means that the bank could be preparing to launch a new cash back credit card or maybe revamping one of its current products. The application was filed on June 18, 2026, and is currently listed as a new application that has not yet been assigned to an examiner.
The filing covers a broad range of credit card and rewards-related services, including issuing credit cards, payment processing, cash back and rewards programs, fraud protection, and emergency card replacement. While trademark filings don’t guarantee that a product will launch, they often provide an early glimpse into what banks may be bringing to market.
The timing is particularly interesting, as Citi recently stopped accepting new applications for the Citi Custom Cash® Card.
