Chase Sapphire Referrals Are Working Again

After a brief pause surrounding the Chase Sapphire card refresh, referral links for Chase Sapphire cards are once again active.

Cardholders can now generate referral links and earn referral bonuses when friends and family members are approved for eligible Chase Sapphire cards. The return of referrals also means that applicants can once again apply through a referral link while taking advantage of the latest Sapphire Preferred offer.

New Sapphire Preferred 100K Bonus Available Through Referrals

Newly generated referral links are now  showing the new Chase Sapphire Preferred 100,000-point bonus. Current referral pages show:

  • Receive 15,000 points per approved referral.
  • Earn up to 100,000 referral bonus points per year.
  • Friends can apply for the new Sapphire Preferred 100K offer through your referral link.

You can generate referrals at the Chase Refer-A-Friend page, or through this link that makes it easier to find all your referrals in one place

Old Referral Links Still Show the Better Sapphire Reserve Offer

There’s another interesting development. Old referral links continue to display the previous Sapphire Reserve offer of 150,000 points, rather than the newer public offer of 100,000 points.

If you generated or saved referral links before the recent changes, it may be worth checking them to see what offer they display. Applicants can receive a better welcome bonus through one of these older referral links than through the currently advertised public offer.

As always, referral offers can change or disappear without notice, so there’s no guarantee that these older links will continue to work for much longer.

Why Use a Referral?

Applying through a referral link can be a win-win situation:

  • The applicant receives the same or sometimes a better welcome offer.
  • The referrer earns bonus Ultimate Rewards points if the application is approved.

If you’re planning to apply for a Sapphire card anyway, it’s always worth checking whether someone you know has a referral link available first. You can also share your own Sapphire Preferred and Sapphire Reserve referrals in our Facebook group.

Guru’s Wrap-up

It’s good to see Chase Sapphire referrals working again, especially now that the new 100,000-point Sapphire Preferred bonus is available through referral links. That allows current cardholders to earn referral bonuses while friends and family take advantage of one of the best Sapphire Preferred offers we’ve seen.

It’s also important to note that older referral links are still displaying the previous 150,000-point Sapphire Reserve offer. If you have an existing referral link saved, it’s definitely worth checking what offer it shows before sending it out.
