Central Pacific Bank, which is a bank with branches in Hawaii only, is offering a new iPad for new checking accounts. The offer expires in a few days, so if there’s any Hawaiian readers, take a look.
To qualify for gift, you must open an Exceptional Checking account to establish an Exceptional Plan, deposit at least $10,000 from another financial institution into deposit account(s) linked to your Exceptional Plan, and maintain a monthly direct deposit of at least $200 from your payroll, social security or pension to your Exceptional Checking account.
Gift will be given upon account opening. Value of gift including tax will be reported as interest.
Hawaii only. Account must be opened in branch.
Limit one gift per customer, one gift per Exceptional Plan.
The account comes with a $20 monthly fee you must maintain a $10,000 minimum combined balance.
A fee will apply if Exceptional Plan is closed within 12 months of account opening or the direct deposit requirement is not met.
The iPad is a pretty good bonus and you also get it right away at account opening. But it does come with several requirements. You could get away with paying one or two monthly fees and then closing the account, but I’m not sure what the early closing fee is.
The offer is limited to Hawaii only and you must go in branch. I also don;t have any information whatsoever on this bank, so if you’re familiar with them, please let me know.
If this bonus is not for you, then you can check our full list of available bank bonuses.
