Barclays Emirates Card

Barclays to Launch an Emirates Card in the U.S.

Emirates Airlines has been rumored to launch a co-branded credit card in the United States in 2020. This rumor was posted by Doctor of Credit last year. But now we also know the issuer of this card. Gary Leff at View from the Wing writes that Barclays has partnered with the Dubai based airline. The information for the new Barclays Emirates Card comes from Barclays 2019 results presentation.

That’s all that the report mentions about the new Emirates partnership. We still do not have any specific details about the card, and what possible benefits it might offer.

Emirates Skywards

The Emirates Skywards program is a transfer partner for all major currencies, American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, and Capital One Venture Miles. So earning Emirates Skywards is already easy through credit credit cards that earn these currencies. Hopefully the new Barclays Emirates card offers something better that the current options. Emirates benefits could also be something that sets the credit apart.

Let me know what you expect or hope to see offered by this new card.
