New 75,000 Miles Bonus for Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business Card

Barclays AAdvantage Aviator Business Mastercard has a new welcome bonus of 75,000 miles. While this is a higher bonus, the spending requirement is much higher that previous offers. Let’s check out the details of this Barclays Aviator Business card offer.

Offer

  • Limited time bonus of 75,000 miles. Earn 50,000 bonus miles after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 90 days, and earn 25,000 bonus miles after spending $10,000 in the first 12 months.
  • Annual Fee: $95

Card Benefits

While this Barclays Aviator Business card offer is great, the card itself doesn’t have a lot to offer. The only bonus categories where you earn 2x are American Airlines purchases and select telecom, office supply purchases and car rentals.

You earn $3,000 Elite Qualifying Dollars when you spend $25,000 on purchases each calendar year, and an annual companion certificate after you spend $30,000 or more, good for one guest to travel with you for $99.

If you keep the card past the first year, there’s a 5% annual mileage bonus every year (after you pay your annual fee).

  • Earn
    • 2 miles for every $1 you spend when you use your card on eligible American Airlines purchases
    • 2 miles for every $1 you spend on select telecom, office supply purchases and car rentals
    • 1 mile for every $1 you spend on every other purchase
  • Earn $3,000 Elite Qualifying Dollars when you spend $25,000 on purchases each calendar year
  • Annual companion certificate after you spend $30,000 or more since your last anniversary – good for one guest to travel with you for $99 (plus taxes and fees
  • 5% annual mileage bonus every year (after you pay your annual fee)

Applying for the Card

Barclay will usually only approve you for a card every 6 months. If you have a Barclay card, is better to put some spend on it before applying for another card. They don’t like dormant cardholders. There’s no real limit on the number of cards you can have with Barclay.

They also have a 6/24 rule. That means that they might not approve you if you’ve had more than 6 new cards in the last 24 months. I say might because we’re not sure if it still applies, and even before it was never really a hard rule.

Barclays business cards don’t report to personal credit reports.

Now they also added the following language:

In addition, you may not be eligible for this offer if, at any time during our relationship with you, we have cause, as determined by us in our sole discretion, to suspect that the account is being obtained or will be used for abusive or gaming activity (such as, but not limited to, obtaining or using the account to maximize rewards earned in a manner that is not consistent with typical consumer activity and/or multiple credit card account applications/openings).

Offer History

When SUB Spend Waived Fee
May, 2023 75,000 $10,000 No
October, 2022 80,000 $2,000 Yes

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is a great bonus for the Barclays Aviator Business card, matching the best ever offer as far as I know. You earn 80,000 miles and a $95 credit after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 90 days. The credit covers the annual fee for the first year.

This new offer is close to the highest bonus we have seen for this card, but the annual fee is not waived and you need to spend a total of $10,000. Personally I would pass.

This is a business card, so there’s a good chance that it won’t report to your personal credit report, and won’t affect your Chase 5/24 status. We have seen some data points to the contrary in recent weeks, but it’s still not clear whether it will report or not.

  1. Any sense of whether having applied for a personal Aviator AAdvantage in February 2022 would disqualify someone for this? Great post!

    1. That wouldn’t disqualify you.

      1. Thanks. Good to know! I think I’ll apply. Hoping the points post quickly after meeting the spending requirements.

        1. 🤞🤞 good luck!
