Barclay Discontinues Uber Visa Card
Back in 2017, Barclays and Uber launches the Uber Visa card. It became instantly the best option for dining with 4% cashback. What was strange, is that the card didn’t really have an incentive for cardholders to use it for Uber rides. Then the card was refreshed in late 2019 adding 5% back on Uber and UberEATS, and lowering the cash back on dining to 3%. But the main change was that the card no longer earned cash back, but Uber Cash instead.
Now the card is changing once again. Barclays is ending the Uber Visa card for good. It will be replaced with a View Mastercard, effective 10/5/21. The new card has no connection to Uber at all and will just earn cash back again.
Here are some of the View Mastercard highlights:
- Earn:
- 3% cash back on restaurants
- 2% cash back on groceries, internet, streaming phone, tv services
- 1% cash back on all other purchases.
- No Annual Fee
