Bank Of The West, $600 Bonus with New Checking and Money Market Accounts

Bank of the West is offering a huge bonus of $600 when you open a checking and money market account and complete the requirements. Bonus is available online and in-branch and in select states only. It is also limited to people who have received the offer directly by mail.

Offer

The offer comes in two parts. You get $500 for the Premier Checking account and another $100 for the Money Market account. Here’s how it works:

Requirements to Receive $500 Bank of the West Premier Checking Bonus Offer:

Apply for a new consumer Bank of the West Premier Checking account through bankofthewest.com/premierbonus or with a mailer promo code at a Bank of the West (Bank) branch between 06/01/21 and 08/06/21 with any opening deposit amount ($0.01 or more). Account must be opened by 08/20/21. AND
Make a minimum of $25,000 or more in total deposits in the Bank of the West Premier Checking account by the last day of the month of account opening and maintain an average monthly account balance of at least $25,000 for 3 full calendar months immediately following the month of account opening. Please note that the average monthly balance indicated on your account statement is based on a statement cycle that may not be a calendar month.
Bank of the West Premier Checking account must be in open status and have a positive balance (greater than $0 balance) as of 12/31/21 to be eligible to receive the bonus.
Bonus will be credited by 01/31/22 to the new, open Bank of the West Premier Checking account.

Requirements to Receive the Additional $100 Bonus:

Apply for a new consumer Bank of the West Premier Checking account through bankofthewest.com/premierbonus or at a Bank of the West (Bank) branch and meet all eligibility requirements indicated above to receive the $500 bonus and apply for a new Choice Money Market Savings account with identical ownership to your Bank of the West Premier Checking account between 06/01/21 and 08/06/21 with any opening deposit amount ($0.01 or more). Account must be opened by 08/20/21.
Deposit a minimum of $10,000 or more in funds new to Bank of the West into your new Choice Money Market Savings account by the last business day of the account opening month AND maintain an average monthly account balance of at least $10,000 for 3 full calendar months after the month of account opening to receive the additional $100 bonus.

Bonus will be credited by 01/31/22 to the new, open Bank of the West Premier Checking account.

Fees

There is a Monthly Service Charge of $25 for the Bank of the West Premier Checking account that is waived for the first two statement cycles on the new account. After that, the Monthly Service Charge can be waived with a $25,000 average monthly combined balance in eligible accounts. Eligible accounts include consumer checking accounts, savings accounts, money market accounts, CDs, and IRAs and certain BancWest Investment Services (BWIS) investment accounts.

There is a Monthly Service Charge of $15 for the Bank of the West Choice Money Market Savings account. The Monthly Service Charge can be waived by completing the following:

Maintain a Bank of the West Premier Checking account with identical ownership to your Bank of the West Choice Money Market Savings OR
Maintain an average monthly balance of at least $5,000 in the Choice Money Market Savings account OR
Use Auto-Save to set up a recurring monthly transfer of $75 or more from any Bank of the West consumer checking account to your Choice Money Market Savings account.

There’s also an early closing fee of $25 if you close account within 3 months.

Eligibility

The offer is only available to residents of AZ, CA, CO, ID, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, NV, NM, ND, OK, OR, SD, UT, WA, WI, WY.
An individual can receive only one consumer checking new account bonus between 01/01/20 and 01/30/22 and only one new account bonus per individual per account.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is a big bonus, but you need to deposit $25K for the checking account bonus and another $10K for the Money Market bonus. You need to keep the money tied up for at least 3 months. Bot accounts come with monthly fees, and you need to keep them open until the bonus posts, which can be over 5 months. There is also targeted language in the offer. To be eligible, you must reside at the address that received the mail piece with this checking offer. I’m not sure if it will work with a different address.
