Amex to Remove Platinum Card $100 Saks Credit
The Amex Platinum Card currently offers up to $100 in statement credits annually for purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue or saks.com. That’s up to $50 in statement credits from January through June and up to $50 in statement credits from July through December.
This credit was first introduced in 2018, but we have learned that it will soon go away. American Express has shared the following information with Doctor of Credit:
“Starting July 1, 2026, the annual Shop Saks credit on the U.S. Consumer Platinum Card will be removed.
New and existing U.S. Consumer Platinum Card Members can continue to get up to $50 in statement credits for purchases at Saks Fifth Avenue or saks.com on their Platinum Card through June 30, 2026. No minimum purchase required. Enrollment required.
On July 1, we plan to introduce several new and exclusive Amex Offers for Platinum Card Members at top retailers and brands that our Card Members know and love. More details to come soon.”
This credit has been less and less useful recently and I still need to use it before it goes away. Saks filed for bankruptcy in January and they now have only 13 stores left nationwide. You can’t find much in stock, especially for $50 or less.
It’s best to start looking as soon as possible if you want to bother using that $50 credit before it’s gone for good. Just make sure you enroll first.
