American Express is targeting some SPG cardholders with an offer to earn an extra point on supermarket and restaurant spending.

Amex SPG Offer

You can earn one additional point for each dollar of eligible purchases on your Card at U.S. supermarkets and U.S. restaurants between the time you complete registration and November 30, 2018, up to a maximum of 2,000 bonus points. Registration period ends on October 31, 2018.

Offer Terms

• Register by October 31, 2018
• Supermarkets (superstores and warehouse clubs are not considered supermarkets) and restaurants located in the U.S. only
• Valid starting from the date you complete registration through November 30, 2018 (“Purchase Period”), up to a maximum of 2,000 additional points.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

With the extra points, you can earn 3X at supermarkets and restaurants up to 2,000 bonus points total. Nothing crazy, and not the best way to maximize spending for either category. You can see my list of best cards for supermarkets and restaurants.
