Amex Offer, 20% Off One 100+ Sam’s Club Purchase (Targeted)

There’s a great new Amex Offer that can net you some serious savings at Sam’s Club. It is targeted and only available on American Express US Small Business credit or charge Cards.

Get a 20% back as a statement credit, one time, by using your enrolled eligible Card to make an eligible purchase of $100+ in a single transaction in-Club at Sam’s Club locations by 1/31/17. Statement credit limited to $250.

So you can make a purchase of $1250 and receive the maximum $250 back as a statement credit to your eligible card. Purchase has to be in-store, so this works for people who have a location nearby. Gift cards are not mentioned in the fine print, so they should qualify for this offer.

How To Maximize

First you’ll need a Sam’s Club membership. It should make sense to purchase a one year membership just for this deal, if you haven’t grabbed one already with the recent Amex Offer, or other offers that have popped up this year. Right now the best option would be this Groupon that will give you new Sam’s Club Savings Membership, $5 e-gift card and some other stuff for just $25 (Expired).

Sam’s Club has tons of gift cards, so if you see any gift cards for merchants that you visit regularly, you should purchase those first. Some gift cards are already discounted. If you shop often at Sam’s Club and Walmart, just purchase Sam’s Club gift cards so you can lock in 20% savings for the future.

You can also sell those Sam’s Club gift cards at 90% value, so you can make about $125 per Amex Offer. GiftCardZen is currently offering 90.3% on Sam’s Club gift cards submitted electronically. Keep in mind that these rates might drop as people start submitting their newly purchased gift cards, so do this right away if you plan to sell.

Another option is to purchase Mastercard or Visa gift cards. Make sure you can unload these, but even if you can’t, just use them for regular spend anywhere. You’re already getting them at a ~20% discount.

Enrollment is limited. An “eligible purchase” means a purchase made in-Club by 1/31/17, excluding gas purchases. An “eligible Card” means a valid American Express® US Small Business credit or charge Card that is issued by a US banking subsidiary of American Express. Prepaid Cards and products, Corporate Cards and American Express-branded Cards issued by other financial institutions are not eligible. Offer valid for in-Club purchases only. Offer is limited to one statement credit, up to $250 per American Express online account. Must add offer to Card and use same Card to redeem. Offer is non-transferable. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not sent/provided to you until after 1/31/17, it may not qualify for the offer. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 1/31/17. Statement credit may be reversed if eligible purchase is returned/cancelled.
