Hilton has sent out emails with another upgrade offer for the Hilton card. We see these offers occasionally, and they provide an easy opportunity to add points to your Hilton accounts.

Earn 100,000 Hilton Honors™ Bonus Points after you spend $3,000 in purchases on the Card within your first three months of Card Membership when you upgrade to the American Express Hilton Surpass.

The card earns the following rates:

• 12X Hilton HHonors Bonus Points per dollar on hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio
• 6X Hilton HHonors Points per dollar on restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations
• 3X Hilton HHonors Points per dollar on all other purchases

Is It Worth Upgrading?

These upgrade offers are great. You get 100K Hilton points without a hard pull which is very important for those trying to stay under 5/24. Most likely this upgrade bonus also keeps you eligible for a signup bonus on the card later on. But you need to have been targeted in order to take advantage of the offer.

You are able to get the upgrade bonus even if you’ve had the Surpass card in the past, or even if you have received an upgrade offer before.

But you could also choose to just apply for the card, and get an even better bonus, if you never had the Amex Hilton Surpass card before. The signup offer gives you 100K points plus a Free weekend night award after your first anniversary.

Guru’s Wrap-Up

This is a great offer. You are basically getting a second signup bonus on the same card without a hard pull and it is really the only option for many to receive a chunk of Hilton points once they have exhausted all credit card offers. The points should be worth about $400 but keep in mind that the card comes with a $75 annual fee.
