How To Get The Offer
The offer was sent by mail, so you need to have been targeted in order to qualify. You can also check here, and log in with your SkyMiles credentials, in case you have missed the email. If you can’t log in, it means that you are not targeted.
Amex Lifetime Rule
American Express restricts you to just one sign up bonus per credit card product. That’s once per lifetime. Even if you previously had the card and didn’t receive a bonus (maybe during your pre-churning days), you won’t be eligible for a bonus on the same card.
However this offer does not seem to have that language so that means that you are able to get the bonus even if you have had the card in the past. Just make sure to check your own offer thoroughly to see if this restrcition is included.
Guru’s Wrap-Up
Pretty good bonuses for all Delta cards, but we have seen a bit better in the past. However this is a good opportunity considering there’s no lifetime language. These chances to get a second bonus on the same Amex card don’t come around often.
Let me know in the comments in anyone gets lucky with this offer.
HT: r/churning and George in comments
So if I never had the amex gold, do I apply for the one with lifetime language then apply for the one with no lifetime language or other way around?
If you never had it before, then just go for the best offer possible.
Got it earlier this week and I applied yesterday.
Looks like a 9/18 expiry, so I think I’ll sit on it for a while. My next trip is in November, and Delta hasn’t released “sale” seats for the flights yet; if they don’t, I’ll be flying United and thus won’t be able to take advantage of the statement credit (gift card purchases are expressly excluded).
I’m also looking at switching from Citi TYP to Chase UR, so I could use the extra slot.
I’ll add exp date. Thx
If you scroll down, you also see the other card options:
Platinum:
– 70k + 5k MQM after $2k
– $100 statement credit
Reserve:
– 70k + 10k MQM after $4k
Gold Business:
– 75k after $3k
– $50 statement credit
Platinum Business:
– 75k + 5k MQM after $3k
– $100 statement credit
Reserve Business:
– 75k + 10k MQM after $5k
MSR and statement credit timeframe is 3 months for all.
So basically:
Gold>Platinum: +5k MQM, +$50 credit
Gold>Reserve: +10k MQM, lose $50 credit, +$2k MSR
Personal>Business (any): +5k miles, +$1k MSR
Thanks for all the info
No problem. Quick note (correction or YMMV): my offers are not showing a waived AF for either Gold card, not showing 5k MQM on the Gold, and showing 5k (not 10k) on the Platinum. Not sure if you transcribed it wrong or if offers vary among members.
Mailer linked in post showed waived fee. But even for those who got the mailer was showing a fee at that link 🤷🏻♂️ thx ill add ymmv tho
Oh crap, so does my mailer! Thanks for pointing it out. If they honor that (my link also doesn’t say it’s waived), it would more than make up for my (maybe) not getting a statement credit.
With the mailer they should.
