American Express Ameriprise Platinum card is no longer available for new applications. You can check out the card page here, it says “this offer is no longer available”.

This was a different flavor of the Amex Platinum card and was considered a separate product. So it was another option to get a bonus. Before they switched to a 60K points bonus, they would waived the fee for the first year. That was a huge bonus on its own for people who were looking to get all the travel perks that the Platinum card provides.

It’s not clear what will happen with current cardholders in the future. Looks like they have now switched to Visa cards issued by Elan Bank.

That leaves just three flavors of American Express Platinum cards now:

• The Platinum Card® from American Express – 60K Points Bonus
• The Business Platinum® Card from American Express – 100K Points Bonus
• The American Express Platinum® Card for Schwab – 60K Points Bonus
