New Amex Membership Rewards Transfer Partner: Qatar Airways Privilege Club

Amex Adds Qatar Airways as Transfer Partner

American Express Membership Rewards members have a new transfer partner, Qatar Airways Privilege Club. The new addition was made yesterday, bringing the total list of transfer partners to 21 airlines and hotel programs.

There’s no official announcement from Amex as far as I know. But the new partner is already showing up in Amex accounts, and you can transfer points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club.

Transfer Amex Points to Qatar Airways

As of July 26, 2023, you can transfer Membership Rewards points to Qatar Privilege Club at a ratio of 1:1. Membership Rewards members can transfer points in increments of 1,000 points. Transfers should be instant, although it’s noted that it may take up to 48 hours.

In order to transfer points, just go to Amex transfer partners list, and scroll down to find Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Then proceed to link your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account to your Amex Membership Rewards account. To do this, enter your Qatar Airways Privilege Club account number. If you don’t have a partner account, create one on the partner website. The name in your Membership Rewards account must match the name on the Privilege Club account statement.

Earning Membership Rewards Points

The easiest way to earn American Express membership Reads points is through Membership Rewards earning credit cards. The fastest way to do so is through welcome bonuses, but some cards also earn great rates for select categories. The most popular Membership Rewards earning credit cards include:

Guru’s Wrap-up

Qatar Airways is best known for its amazing Qsuites business class. The airline’s Privilege Club loyalty program now uses Avios as its points currency. That means that transferring Amex Membership Rewards points to Qatar Airways was already possible, but you needed to go through an extra step.

British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Aer Lingus AerClub all use Avios and they are Amex transfer partners as well. There’s even a very good transfer bonus right now for two of these partners. So the addition on Qatar just makes the transfer process easier and eliminates a step. You can transfer Avios between programs with few restrictions.

It’s also worth mentioning that you can also transfer Citi ThankYou points to Qatar Airways.
