American Express Sending Appreciation Gifts to Select Cardmembers

Over the last few years, American Express has been occasionally surprising some Platinum Card® from American Express cardholders with unexpected gifts. These are usually member appreciation gift cards that are sent by mail, and some time even Echo devices and other things, but it is not clear how American Express exactly chooses who gets these appreciation gifts.

American Express usually send these gifts out closer to holidays, but sometimes even during the year. Now more people are seeing these gifts, as new round has gone out in the last few days. Here’s what I have seen so far:

• $250 John Hardy gift card
• $150 Peter Thomas Roth gift card

It’s not clear how American Express selects the cardholders who are worthy of these gifts. Keep an eye out for any fancy envelopes from American Express and hopefully you are one of the lucky customers.
