Guru’s Wrap-up

The increased annual fees hurt, especially when the Delta Reserve credit cards now have more limited lounge access. But there are new benefits that can provide value, although they mostly come in the form of monthly credits. That makes them harder to use and maximize, which I guess is what American Express is trying to do with these coupon book style perks.

Let me know what you think about these American Express Delta credit card changes.

  1. I thought the Delta gold card sucked before the refresh but this update somehow makes it even worse…

  2. I am not understanding the Resy credits at all. On Android does is it called “Open Table” app? For the credit must you make a reservation through the app or can you just go to any of the restaurants eat, pay and use it like a dinning credit. This for sure sounds like a useless credit and an attempt to make you spend more money.

    1. Eligible Resy purchases include purchases at U.S. restaurants that offer reservations on Resy.com and the Resy app, and purchases made directly on Resy.com or in the Resy app. Restaurants must be live on Resy.com or the Resy app at time of purchase to be eligible for the statement credit and are subject to change at any time. Purchases made via Resy Pay and purchases of Resy OS restaurant management software are not eligible.

  3. charge $100 more and throw in a $10 monthly Resy credit?

  4. I’m surprised nobody at Amex has not yet suggested weekly credits. Why stop at $10 monthly? make it $2 rideshare credit per week.

    1. don’t give them any ideas
