Amazing Fare Sale for Capital One Cardholders

Capital One Travel has launched a great sale with exclusive discounts for Capital One cardholders. To use a discount, simply search for a flight or hotel in one of the sale destinations, or a rental car from Avis, Budget, or Fox. You’ll see the offer details while you shop, while supplies last, and the discount will be automatically applied to your total at checkout.
The best part of this offer is the discount on flights where you can save between $50 and $200, based on the destination. There is no minimum spend requirement, and you can book one-way fares if you prefer. That means that if you find a cheap flight of $52 on an eligible route, then you’ll pay just $2 after the $50 discount.
Offer Details
The travel sale offers are as follows:
- Offers for flights are a fixed dollar amount off the total flight cost.
- For example, if you select a $70 flight to Miami , including taxes and fees, using the $50 off flights offer, your flight cost would be $20.
- If you select a $125 flight to Aruba, including taxes and fees, using the $100 off flights offer, your flight cost would be $25.
- Offers for hotels are a percentage off the total booking price, up to a fixed dollar amount.
- For example, if you select a hotel in Rome for $300 including taxes and fees with a 20% off offer (up to $200), then your offer value will be $60 (20% of $300). If you select a hotel in Rome for $2000 including taxes and fees with the same offer, then your offer value would be $200 (the maximum offer amount).
Details for each offer, including expiration dates, can be found by clicking the “i” information icon next to each offer. Most offers are available until 10/17 or while supplies last, and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you no longer see an offer, it has likely expired or sold out.

Amazing Deals
As I mentioned above, this promotion offers some amazing opportunities for super cheap flights. After reading about this promotion at Frequent Miler, I started looking at some of the eligible destinations.
The first deal I came across was a one way United Airlines flight from NYC to Aruba which costs $123.20 and only $23.20 after the $100 discount. I have $21.18 in travel credits left on my Capital One Venture X card, so that’s why you see the amount due at just $2.02.
Then I looked at flight to Miami which give even more surprising results. One-way flights from NYC to Miami in October cost less than $50 with Spirit. That means that with a $50 discount from this promotion you can fly for free. Round-trip costs $85 with Spirit or JetBlue, so you would pay $35 after the $50 discount.

If you plan to book, you should do so quickly. The sale started with 40 eligible destinations, and now there are 36 left. You can even put together an itinerary with a few one-way flights booked separately. Clearly to get the best deals here you have to book the cheapest fares. That means Basic Economy and low-cost carriers. But you can find decent prices from full service airlines as well.
And to make it all better, you will earn miles on these flights, since they are paid fares.
