Alliant Credit Union has a targeted sign up offer of 35,000 points for their Visa Platinum Rewards credit card. You have to be a Alliant CU member to apply, but even then you must have been targeted with an email. Promo code is VISA129A.
To earn the 35,000 bonus Alliant Rewards points you must spend $3,000 or more in purchases during the first three billing cycles after the account is opened. Points will be awarded and posted to the account by the fourth billing cycle after the account is opened.
The 35,000 Alliant Rewards are worth $350 in cash back. You can also use them for flights starting at 21,000 points or gift cards. This is a good deal but there’s been similar targeted offers in the past with higher bonuses, such as this one for $500 with $2,500 spend.
If you received an email, then just apply online. If you have a Alliant CU account but don’t see the offer then call and check if you’re eligible. You never know. I have had an Alliant checking account for a while now but I have never seen any of these offers.
$350 is a good sign up bonus, but you may want to wait for a better deal since the card doesn’t really offer much else beyond that. It only earns one reward point per dollar.
Keep in mind that sometimes Alliant asks for documents such as driver’s license or tax returns for credit card applications, but it’s not that common. Also it looks like they’re pretty generous with their CL, which you request during the application.
