Tamarind Reopens as an Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

Tamarind has reopened on Barbados’ west coast after a multi-million-dollar renovation and has joined Marriott’s Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts.

The reopening also completes a two-year renovation program across all seven properties in Marriott’s Barbados Collection.

The updated Tamarind has 111 guestrooms and suites, refreshed public spaces, new dining concepts and expanded family programming. The resort remains all-inclusive and sits directly on the beach in Saint James.

Dining options include Sugar Cane Restaurant for breakfast, Harvest & Hive for coffee, 246 Bar & Restaurant, Sugar Shack and a new Caribbean Restaurant, which Marriott says is the island’s first air-conditioned restaurant focused entirely on Barbadian cuisine.

The resort also offers several pools, motorized and non-motorized water sports, wellness activities and a new CAMP Club for children, created with CAMP and Marriott Bonvoy. Activities there include local arts and crafts, music, storytelling and other Barbados-inspired programming.

Guests can also take part in rum tastings, Soca dance lessons and cooking classes featuring local dishes such as Bajan fish cakes. Tamarind participates in the Barbados Collection’s Dine Around Program, which gives guests access to restaurants and experiences at participating sister properties.

The reopening completes Marriott’s broader refresh of the Barbados Collection. Waves Resort & Spa, Treasure Beach, The House and Tamarind are now Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts. Crystal Cove and Turtle Beach have become Tribute Portfolio All-Inclusive Resorts, while Colony Club reopened as part of The Luxury Collection.

As part of Marriott Bonvoy, guests at Tamarind can earn and redeem points on eligible stays.
