Google AI Mode Can Now Search Flights and Hotels With Points

Google just announced several major travel upgrades for AI Mode in Search, including one that should be especially interesting for points and miles enthusiasts. AI Mode can now show award prices for flights and hotels.

You can ask a fairly specific question, such as finding nonstop flights for particular dates using American Airlines miles, and AI Mode will supposedly return matching options along with the number of miles required based on current data from Google’s partners. Hotel award searches work similarly. You can specify your destination, dates and loyalty program and ask to see prices in points.

The points and miles feature is launching with support for:

• Alaska Airlines / Hawaiian Airlines
• American Airlines
• Choice Hotels
• Hilton
• Wyndham

Google says Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group will be added in the coming weeks. The feature is available globally in supported AI Mode locations and languages. For now it still seems to be a work in progress, so always double check the results before making any plans or transferring points.

More New Travel Features

Google is also bringing Google Flights price tracking directly into AI Mode. You can describe the trip you’re looking for and simply ask AI Mode to track the price. Google will then email you when prices change. This feature is available in more than 180 countries and territories.

There’s also a new hotel booking feature rolling out in the U.S. You can search for hotels conversationally in AI Mode and, with participating partners, select “Continue on Google” to choose a room and complete the reservation using Google Pay. Initial partners include Hilton, Marriott, IHG, Wyndham, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline and others.
