Chase Sending Out Big Checks for Missing Rewards
American Express is known to send out unexpected checks for missing rewards and credits. Now Chase seems to be doing the same thing and some cardholders report getting big checks.
There are two reports on reddit today for checks of $460 and $1,000 sent by mail. At least one of the checks is for a closed Chase Ink account, and references “missing owed on the account”. One member of our Facebook Group reports getting three checks for a total of $4,000.
Here’s the text of the letter:
Important: Here’s a check for rewards owed to this account
Account ending in XXXX
Dear Chase Customer:
We determined that rewards are owed to this account.
We apologize for the inconvenience and have enclosed a check for the amount.
If you have questions, please call us at 1-800-300-8575 anytime. We accept operator relay cals.
Sincerely,
Customer Service
So keep an eye out on the mail and make sure yo don’t throw these valuable envelopes in the trash without opening them.
