National Cinema Day, Score $3 Movie Tickets this Weekend
The inaugural National Cinema Day will take place on Saturday, September 3rd. The one-day only event will feature all movie tickets for only $3, including all premium format screens. Labor Day weekend is traditionally one of the slowest weekends in theaters.
If there’s movie in theaters that you’re planning to watch, this Saturday is a great opportunity to do so. Movie tickets in major cities cost as much as $15 in some cases, so this is s big discount.
National Cinema Day celebrates a summer of blockbuster moviegoing, inviting guests of all ages to enjoy a day at the movies. Along with special sneak peeks and exclusive previews, all movies are only $3.
The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners, said that the event will take place at 3,000 theaters and on more than 30,000 screens. That’s about 75% of all screens in the country. Major chains, including AMC and Regal Cinemas, are participating, as are all major film studios.
Before each showing, ticket buyers will be shown plenty of previews for upcoming films from A24, Amazon Studios, Disney, Focus Features, Lionsgate, Neon, Paramount, Sony Pictures Classics, Sony, United Artists Releasing, Universal, and Warner Bros.
