Yahoo Data Breach Settlement
A Class Action Settlement has been proposed in litigation against Yahoo and Aabaco Small Business. The lawsuit relates to data breaches occurring in 2013 through 2016, as well as to data security intrusions occurring from, at least, January to April 2012. Under the terms of this Yahoo Data Breach settlement, the company will enhance its business practices that will improve the security of its users’ personal information stored on its databases. It will also pay for a Settlement Fund of $117,500,000.

Who’s Eligible?
If you received a notice about the Data Breaches, or if you had a Yahoo account at any time between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2016 and are a resident of the United States or Israel, you are a member of this Yahoo Data Breach settlement.
How Much Do I Get?
If you already have a credit monitoring service, you may submit a claim for cash payment. You can get $100.00 or more. But, you must show proof of having a credit monitoring service and will keep it for a year or more. Cash payment may be less than $100.00 or more (up to $358.80). That depends on how many Settlement Class Members participate in the Settlement.
If you have out-of-pocket losses you may receive more. You need to provide documentation or proof to receive reimbursement of up to $25,000.00. That includes lost time that you believe you suffered or are suffering because of the Data Breaches. You can receive payment for up to fifteen hours of time at an hourly rate of $25.00 per hour.
Must submit your Claim Form online or by mail by July 20, 2020.

Do Not Submit False Claims
These settlements enable you to get something back if you were wronged by merchants, manufacturers or other entities. They sometimes reach out to you to let you know that you’re part of a settlement, but that’s not always the case. make sure to check dates and products carefully to see if you’re eligible. You can look here for more settlement rebates that you might qualify for.
Please do not submit fraudulent claims for these settlement rebates. It takes money away from those who deserve a reimbursement, and furthermore it is illegal. You’re usually required to acknowledge something along these lines:
I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that all of the information provided on this Claim Form is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.
Guru’s Wrap-up
This is a huge settlement, but there should also be millions of people who qualify for a rebate check. If you are eligible, definitely file a claim. At worst, you can get free credit monitoring services if you don’t already have it. You don’t get to choose between that and cash though. To get the cash, you must show proof that you have credit monitoring service and will keep it for a year or more. If you do, then you might get a check for $100 to $358.80. You could see a bigger check with this one though, compared to that Equifax fiasco.
