Guru’s Wrap-Up

This offer makes sense only for the debit card and the reloadable cards since there is no hard pull. It’s basically $80 in free spend per card. You can use it online and in-store. I normally place a $40+ pickup order online, pickup my order and then spend $40+ in store.

The promo code usually comes in the same envelope as the card itself, so don’t throw those papers out. The promo code can be used online and then the barcode can be scanned in-store.

You can get this bonus as long as you don’t currently have the card. So if you have the debit card, you can close it and then open it again.

Check out the list of exclusions, as lots of items do not qualify for the discount.

  1. Tried to apply for debit card and after linking to bank account it just spins and spins and never goes past step 3.

    1. Maybe it’s a browser issue? Try a different browser or private/incognito.

  2. Can I apply for the debit card if I already have the Target Credit Card? Will I receive the bonus?

    1. Yes, you can get the bonus if you have the credit card.

  3. first time getting a denial for debit/reloadable redcards. maybe they’re onto us?

We don’t like delivering bad news
However, we’re unable to approve you for an Account at this time. We appreciate your interest in RedCard Reloadable Account.

  4. Same bonus for reloadable debit card?

    1. Yes, you can do both.

  5. Does this involve a hard pull?

    1. No hard pull for Redcard debit

  6. How long in between closing/reopening does it need to be? Can you open multiple a year to get the bonuses if you just keep closing them?

  7. Can you close the RedCard debit card online? I can’t find an option.

    1. You need to call to close your Target RedCard. You can try sending a message, but that rarely works.

  8. I got the RedCard in the mail but no coupon. I applied a few days before the expiration date on this promotion. Do they come separately or together on same day? Are you sure they send you a coupon if you had the RedCard before? I canceled my previous card more than 6 months ago.

    1. That happens sometimes. Just call the number on the card and they will send you the coupon.

  9. Are you saying you can place an online order to pick up in the store and then go to the store and use it again or are you saying you can use it for an online order delivered to you, then go use it in the store?

    1. Either one should work.
