The deadline that was just a few months away, on May 3, 2023, has now been pushed back by more than two years. The new date is May 7, 2025.
Beginning May 3, 2023, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card, state-issued enhanced driver’s license.
If you haven’t updated your license to the new Real ID version, don’t worry about it. You will have plenty of time to do so. The Department of Homeland Security has delayed the Real ID enforcement deadline for another 12 months.
