Low-cost carrier Allegiant Air has announced 44 new nonstop routes including its first Chicago, Boston and Houston flights. The Las Vegas-based airline has called this its largest expansion in company history. Allegiant added 15 Airbus jets to its fleet last year and plans to add more this year.

Budget carrier Allegiant Air has gained access to capacity-choked Newark Liberty International Airport, where Allegiant believes it can stimulate new passenger traffic with its low fares.
