American Express has acquired restaurant reservation platform Resy. Resy partners with 4,000 restaurants in 154 US cities and 10 countries and helps power their reservation platform. Read more here.

Hilton Seeks More Partnerships to Entice Low-Tier Loyalty Members

The hotel chain is actively looking to engage more with low-tier Hilton Honors members, in order to increase wallet share, CEO Chris Nassetta said on Hilton’s second-quarter earnings call with analysts last week. This is predicated on introducing more loyalty partnerships with third parties, according to the company. Read more here.

Amtrak To Launch Nonstop Trains From DC To New York: Report

The service will be limited to just one northbound and one southbound train per weekday, but they will be fast: the southbound train will leave New York’s Pennsylvania Station at 6:35 a.m. and arrive at Union Station at 9:10 a.m., while the D.C.-to-NYC train will leave at 4:30 p.m. and arrive at 7:05 p.m. Read more here.

Baltimore airport officials find another rocket launcher, the second this week

Early Thursday, agents at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport found their second device of the week, according to the Maryland fire marshal, who said it was “empty of any explosive hazard and was inspected by the U.S. military for safety.” Read more here.
