There are different merchants and different discounts showing up for some people. It’s also possible that you won’t see any discounts at all.

This could be a decent way to cash out your Membership Rewards if you don’t have any travel plans right now, or just have too many points. You can definitely get more value when redeeming points for travel by transferring to travel partners, or cashing out for 1.25¢ with the Charles Schwab Cards from American Express. Recently we also saw a targeted promotion to use points to cover purchases, where you could get a value of up to 1.2 per point.
