Mastercard is launching a new promotion in NYC. Every Tuesday beginning November 26, 2019, through the end of the year, plus New Year’s Day, cardholders can tap and pay for their NYC taxi fare, and Mastercard will refund fares up to $10 per cardholder, per day. You can see the promotion page here.
The promotion applies to yellow or green taxis that are equipped with Curb Mobility or CMT technology systems and that are paid for with a valid contactless credit or debit Mastercard or a valid Mastercard credit or debit card through a contactless-enabled device.
Mastercard also has a monthly $10 credit for Lyft users.
Offer Terms
This offer is open to U.S. Mastercard cardholders with a valid contactless credit or debit Mastercard or a Mastercard credit or debit card through any contactless-enabled device (e.g., iPhone, Samsung phone, etc.). The offer will be available during each of six (6) Promotional Periods with the first beginning at 12:00 A.M. Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 26, 2019, and the last ending at 11:59 P.M. ET on January 1, 2020 (each, a “Promotional Period”) as follows: (i) Promotional Period 1: 12:00 A.M. ET on November 26, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on November 26, 2019 (“Promotional Period 1”); (ii) Promotional Period 2: 12:00 A.M. ET on December 3, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on December 3, 2019 (“Promotional Period 2”); (iii) Promotional Period 3: 12:00 A.M. ET on December 10, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on December 10, 2019 (“Promotional Period 3”); (iv) Promotional Period 4: 12:00 A.M. ET on December 17, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on December 17, 2019 (“Promotional Period 4”); (v) Promotional Period 5: 12:00 A.M. ET on December 24, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on December 24, 2019 (“Promotional Period 5”); and (vi) Promotional Period 6: 12:00 A.M. ET on December 31, 2019, to 11:59 P.M. ET on January 1, 2020 (“Promotional Period 6”). The offer entitles cardholders to receive a refund of up to US$10.00 per day against fares incurred in NYC yellow or green taxis that are equipped with Curb Mobility or CMT technology systems that are paid for with a valid contactless credit or debit Mastercard or a valid Mastercard credit or debit card through a contactless-enabled device each day during a Promotional Period. To redeem this offer, Mastercard cardholders must use their contactless credit or debit Mastercard or their Mastercard credit or debit card through their contactless-enabled device to pay for their taxi cab fare during a Promotional Period. Prepaid cards, International cards and Commercial cards are not eligible for this offer. The refund will take up to 28 business days from the end of each Promotional Period to appear on the Mastercard cardholder’s account statement. All qualifying trips must be paid for using either a valid contactless credit or debit Mastercard or a valid Mastercard credit or debit card through a contactless-enabled device. The offer is as stated and nothing else is included. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, offer or promotion. To qualify for the offer you must tap to pay with either your contactless credit or debit Mastercard or contactless-enabled device on the contactless reader located in the taxi cab at the end of your trip. To the fullest extent possible under the law, Mastercard shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever caused by matters relating to this offer including, but not limited to, human, machine or typographic error. Any attempt to obtain or generate multiple offers and/or any fraudulent or other non-permissible mechanisms to obtain offer, as determined by Mastercard in its sole discretion, shall give Mastercard the right to disqualify Mastercard cardholders from the offer. Offer applies to each eligible transaction made as a contactless transaction, as defined by the applicable Mastercard Transaction Category Code. By redeeming this offer, Mastercard cardholders will be deemed to be bound by and have accepted these terms and conditions. Other terms, conditions and restrictions apply. Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the terms and conditions will be based on the laws of the state of New York and the state court of New York sitting in Westchester County will have exclusive jurisdiction.
