New Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South Opens Up

A new Hilton property opened up today in the heart of New York City, called the Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South. The hotel has a great location and affordable prices, depending on the time of year. Award night will vary from 28K to 67K Hilton Honors points a night.

Location

The 250-room, 23-story Hilton Garden Inn New York Times Square South at 326 West 37th St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, is now ready to go and available for bookings. The new hotel has a great location for visitors, being near the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Times Square, Broadway theater district, emerging Hudson Yards neighborhood and New York Penn Station and Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Features

The hotel features six Sky View rooms with soaring 22-foot ceilings and city skyline views from the 23rd floor, two City View rooms on the 17th floor with panoramic views and two Balcony rooms on the 18th floor that provide outdoor access. Guest rooms all include free WiFi, and desks with ergonomic chairs by Herman Miller. Rooms have mini-refrigerators, Keurig® coffeemakers, and microwaves.

It also offers a in house restaurant. Doyler’s, a full-service, three-meal-a-day restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating on the lobby level, specializes in Irish pub-style food and beverages. There’s also a Garden Market, which has 24-hour grab-n-go snacks and drinks. Free coffee is offered in the mornings.

Other hotel amenities include media room on the second floor offers game stations and large flat-screen televisions for viewing movies, a meeting room, room service, 24-hour fitness center and The Shop Market, offering toiletries, snacks and beverages. Complimentary wireless internet service is available throughout the building.

Pricing

With the new Hilton Honors program, pricing varies obviously. The lowest Honors Discount Advance Purchase price I found was for $104 a night in early February, not the best time to visit NYC. That’s a very good price in my opinion for a good location, if the cold weather and snow is not a problem. An award night for the same date would cost your 28,000 Hilton Honors points.

As for the highest price, I did see 67,000 Hilton Honors Points a night in late November. That’s a big swing.
