It’s a mystery to me why they don’t email some/most (all?) cardmembers about this. Have to find out on a blog after it’s sold out? Crazy.
Its near impossible to find any good Wyndham hotels personally Wyndham is at the bottom, last resort emergency if I hotel 1 step away from sleeping in the car option. Once in a while I am in that situation. I will burn Wyndham on their timeshare deals every 6 months, funny part is 90% of the time they put me up in a Marriot or Hilton hotel, sometimes I get unlucky to stay in one of Wyndham old rundown & abused “resorts”. Vacasa is nothing special it’s just a 3rd party home rental as is VBRO & AirBnB (all with high cleaning fees). You for sure do not need a Wyndham card to be part of Vacasa or to transfer points to them. You can also transfer Bonvoy points just as easily to Vacasa (+ Homes & Villas) same concept nothing special with Wyndham. In fact Bonvoy & AMEX are always running tons of Vacasa deals double points, $200 cash back, etc.. (which is the only way I can actually find value in Vacasa).
Anyway, great for you if you can find value from the card. I hope you enjoy your $5 waffle kit that does help offset the $75 card membership.

Guess you haven’t stayed at some hotels like the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach on a points stay then, have you? Definitely one of their upmarket hotels, and a great use of points.
You are correct, I have never stayed there but I will agree it look like a nice location. True story about 1.5 year ago sometime before the last big storm hit that area, I actually stayed at the Hyatt Regency next door. Not saying Wyndham does not “any” good hotels but they are hard to find. Majority of their options are super old and outdated, Wyndham is all about the #’s and lacks on quality. I have had tons of Wyndham points in the past, but I just let them expire since it’s so hard to find worthy locations. In my experience if you’re on a road trip in the middle of nowhere Wyndham will bail you out with something as a last-ditch option. If you’re in a location where there happens to be a worthy Wyndham option, such as the Grand you mention then 100% there are always much better options available through other brands. Most cases the other brand options in the area normally make the best Wyndham option look bad. Because of this it’s not worth it for me to chase & or try to cash-in Wyndham points with so many better options that are easier to redeem but I am happy you can find value in it. If it works for you travel happy.
If I had the card, I would also claim the free waffle maker no shame in that although we all know it’s one of those use a few times use up the mix and will end up being in the junk cabinet, been their done that. HA! enjoy.
