DoorDash was in the news recently for taking tips intended for delivery drivers. Many of the app’s customers learned about the policy after a New York Times reporter wrote about his experience working for a handful of food delivery apps last week. After backlash, they announced that they are changing their tipping model. “We thought we were doing the right thing by making Dashers whole when a customer left no tip. What we missed was that some customers who *did* tip would feel like their tip did not matter,” CEO and co-founder, Tony Xu wrote on Twitter.
Ahh to bad code not accepted in Hawaii. If you set up a doordash driver account you could make money and score a free meal if you drive & deliver your own meal.
How’s the signup process? Easy to do?
Its super easy you can sign up online just downloading the app and completing the registration process. You have to go in person to a location to complete sign up and get your dash credit card or you can choose to have it all mailed to you. Doordash will even send you a hot & cold bag to transport the food. UberEats is a similar process.
I do dash when great deals are offered and UberEast 1-2 times a month with my $30 Uber credits from my 2 x AMEX plat cards. I order, deliver and at times if I still have credit even tip myself extra cash. Hardest part is trying to find the furthest delivery distance (most pay) for the resturant you want to order from. Once you do park in front of the resturant turn your Uber or Doordash driver app on, order food and wait to catch your own order. Best to order in a non-busy area so you have a higher chance to catch your own order.
On adverage I will order $15 of food twice a month, drop it off at furthest distance and get paid $12-17 to deliver it to myself. In addition I earn Uber rewards, and im able to deduct a ton of vehical expenses from Taxes every year.
Also best to sign up through a referal code when the signup bonus is high. I even refered my wife and dooddash gave me a $1000 bonus, Uber normally around $200-500 bonus. You can also use other apps such as Swagbucks to get additional signup bonus.
