Citi to End Points Sharing with Other People on May 17

Citi to End Points Sharing

🔄️ Update: Confirmed that it applies to all ThankYou cards. The following message now showing on ThankYou portal help page.

Points Sharing is a ThankYou® Rewards feature that allows you to give your qualifying ThankYou points to another ThankYou Member by sharing points from your ThankYou Account to the recipient’s ThankYou Account. Shared points received are valid 90 days from the date received. Citi Custom Cash® Card customers are not eligible to share points. If the redemption is cancelled, the points will go back to the recipient, not the original person who earned.

Citi ThankYou (old Sears card) cardholders report seeing a message in their latest statement, saying that points sharing will end soon. This will likely affect points sharing with other people and not between cards for the same person.

Update to ThankYou® Rewards Point Sharing

Effective 5/17/2026, Point Sharing will no longer be offered as a ThankYou® Rewards redemption option. Additionally, you will no longer be able to receive shared points. You can share and receive shared points until 5/16/2026.
As a reminder, shared points expire 90 days after the date they were shared.

I took a look at my most recent Citi statements and I don’t see anything there. But I don’t have any statements in the last 10 days or so.
