Citi has officially launched “Citi Smart Savings”, a program similar to Amex’s Amex Offers, but for now it’s very inferior.
It works pretty much the same as Amex Offers. You see the offers in your account, you add the offers that interest you and then do the required spending at that merchant to receive the statement credit. As of now, I have 6 offers available, but they only show up on one of my card.
- Earn 20% cash back on your Starbucks purchase, with a $4 cash back maximum
- Earn 10% cash back on your Chili’s purchase, with a $12.50 cash back maximum
- Earn 10% cash back on your Sports Authority purchase, with a $20 cash back maximum
- Earn 10% cash back on your Sears purchase, with a $35 cash back maximum
- Stay at Hilton Hotels & Resorts and earn 10% cash back when you spend between $200 and $500, with a $50 cash back maximum
- Earn 10% cash back on your Uno Pizzeria & Grill purchase, with a $10 cash back maximum
This is a nice addition to Citi cards, but hopefully the offers get better. Right now they’re closer to Chime offers than Amex offers.
