Capital One Improves Its Miles Programs
Capital One recently brought back its big 100,000 mile sign-up bonus for the Capital One Venture card. But the credit card issuer has also announced today a big improvement to its miles program, besides the new lounges. Capital One is adding new partners and also a new tier with a better transfer ratio. Instead of the current rate of 2 to 1.5, some transfer partners will now be placed in the new transfer tier of 1:1. The changes with go into effect starting April 20th.
New Partners
Capital One is also adding 4 new travel loyalty programs to its miles transfer program:
- British Airways (Avios)
- Choice Hotels (Choice Privileges)
- TAP Air Portugal (Miles&Go)
- Turkish Airlines (Miles&Smiles)
Cardholders are able to make redemptions with British Airways (Avios), TAP Air Portugal (Miles&Go), and Turkish Airlines (Miles&Smiles) as of April 20th, while Choice Hotels (Choice Privileges) will go live later this year.
Venture, VentureOne, and Spark Miles Select account holders can now transfer their miles to 15+ travel loyalty programs, with Capital One continuing to innovate and further cement itself as a travel rewards industry leader.
New 1:1 Transfer Tier
Beginning on April 20th, Capital One miles can be transferred to select travel loyalty programs at a 1 to 1 value. Those programs include:
- Avianca (LifeMiles)
- Etihad (Etihad Guest)
- Asia Miles
- AeroMexico (Club Premier)
- Finnair (Finnair Plus)
- Qantas (Qantas Frequent Flyer)
- Wyndham Rewards
Plus the newly added partners:
- TAP Air Portugal (Miles&Go)
- Choice Hotels (Choice Privileges)
Capital One Transfer Partners
Customers will need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 Venture X, Venture X Business, Venture or Spark Miles at a time to travel loyalty programs, and will need to transfer in 100 mile increments.If you’re an eligible Capital One cardholder, you can transfer your rewards by signing in to your account online or through the Capital One Mobile app. Once you’re signed in, navigate to the rewards section button and select the option to transfer your miles. Before you confirm, remember that there’s no way to transfer miles back into your Capital One rewards account.
