Capital One Spark Cash Plus Review

Capital One has officially launched a new charge card. The Capital One Spark Cash Plus Credit Card has no fixed spending limit and you must pay your balance in full every month. It also has a big signup bonus and earns 2% cash back on every purchase. The Capital One Spark Cash Plus Credit Card comes with a $150 annual fee.

It replaces the old Capital One Spark Cash for Business card, which is now no longer available to new applicants (if you have the Spark Cash card, you get to keep it). Let’s check more details about the new card in this Capital One Spark Cash Plus review.

How This Charge Card Works

The card has no preset spending limit. Instead, the limit on your Capital One Spark Cash Plus card is determined by several factors, including spending history, credit score and more. There’s no APR either, because your balance is due in full every month and you can’t carry a balance.

But what happens if you don’t pay in full at the end of the month? You get charged a late fee of 2.99% on your outstanding statement balance. Your account will be considered past due until you pay the previous month’s balance in full.

Annual Fee

The Capital One Spark Cash Plus Credit Card comes with a $150 annual fee. It is not waived the first year.

Convert Cash to Miles

While this is technically a cash back credit card, you can actually convert the cash back to miles and then onto travel partners. If you have the Spark Cash Plus in addition to the Capital One Venture XCapital One Venture or Capital One Spark Miles for Business, you can convert 1 cent to one mile.

You can easily do this on the Capital One site using the “Move Rewards” option. Once you have the miles, you can then transfer to travel partners. That would make this bonus even more valuable.

Capital One Transfer Partners

Customers will need to transfer a minimum of 1,000 Venture X, Venture X Business, Venture or Spark Miles at a time to travel loyalty programs, and will need to transfer in 100 mile increments.

Capital One Spark Cash Plus Review: Guru’s Wrap-up

Capital One has refreshed its business credit card lineup, and the new Spark Cash Plus replaces the Spark Card which is now no longer available to new applicants. The card comes with a big bonus but you also need to spend a large amount.

As for benefits, the card doesn’t offer much for the $150 annual fee. At least employee cards are free and there are no foreign transaction fees. Plus this card shouldn’t count towards your Chase 5/24 status.
