New Apple Ultimate Rewards Store, Use Points at 1¢ Each

Chase has announced the new Apple Ultimate Rewards Store. The newest enhancement to Chase’s rewards platform gives Chase Sapphire, Freedom and Ink cardmembers the ability to redeem points to cover all or a portion of Apple products purchased through Ultimate Rewards. As a special limited time offer, cardmembers can redeem one Ultimate Rewards point for one cent, meaning 100 points can be redeemed for one dollar on eligible Apple merchandise.

Within the Apple Ultimate Rewards Store, cardmembers can search and redeem points for all available Apple products, including the newest launches and must-have items, just in time for the busy holiday season. Cardmembers can redeem as many or as few Ultimate Rewards points to pay for all or part of Apple product orders, including tax.

Here’s some examples:

  • 17,900 Ultimate Rewards points for an Apple TV 4K
  • 39,900 Ultimate Rewards points for the new Apple Watch Series 4 or the
  • 39,900 Ultimate Rewards points for the iPad mini 4
  • 99,900 Ultimate Rewards points the new iPhone XS 64GB.

Using your points at 1 cent each is definitely not the best use of Ultimate Rewards. And that is a promotional rate, 25% higher than the standard rate. So after the promotion is over, you’ll only get a value of 0.8 cents per point. On top of that, you will be paying full price for Apple products. I really don’t see much value here, but now at least you know that it is an option.
