Guru’s Wrap-Up

You’ll need to activate it first, and then do the spending required. With the previous offer, some people had success by calling in, even if they weren’t targeted online, so you could give it a shot. This is basically 2 Starpoint per dollar up to $5,000 by the end of the year. These are very valuable points, often well over 2 cents a piece, so this will make sense for lots of people looking to stay at SPG properties or even transfer them to travel partners.

  1. sigh, tried the calling in hail mary. Rep at the other end had no idea what I was talking about — seemed to think I was calling about Amex offers…. (e.g., merchant specific). I read to her from the promo itself — then got put on hold — when she came back, sorry, there was nothing she could do.

To which I said I was tired of being passed over by amex for such promos….. and I then asked her to be so kind as to pass along the sr. mgmt that when time comes for me to consider renewing this card, this present discriminatory treatment would be top of my memory. To which she told me she was “filing an incident report.” (good grief…. you dare to question the powers that be and you get black-balled.
