$200 AmexTravel Credit for Amex Platinum Card Renewed by March 2021

Update (Nov. 15, 2021) – In 2020, Amex announced a limited time $200 American Express Travel Credit for Platinum Cards, set to expire on 12‌/‌31‌/‌21. Now the period to use this Travel Credit has been extended.

If you have not already taken advantage of this credit, you will now have through 6‌/‌30‌/‌22 to receive up to $200 back in statement credits for eligible travel purchases on airfare, hotel bookings, car rentals, and more when you book through American Express Travel using your eligible Platinum Card. You can stack this with the $200 statement credit that you get each year on prepaid Fine Hotels + Resorts or The Hotel Collection bookings.

American Express has added many offers and credits for cardholders who cannot travel during the pandemic. One of those perks if for Amex Platinum cardholders who renew. This was previously available for cardholders who renewed by December 31, 2020. But now it has apparently been extended for three more months and a tracker has also been added online for the benefit.

The new terms state the following:

• For eligible Platinum Card Accounts that renew April 2020 through July 2020, this offer will be available starting August 1, 2020.
• For eligible Platinum Card Accounts that renew August 2020 through March 2021, this offer will be available starting on the first day of your Card renewal month.

This $200 credit is yet another benefit that could persuade people to renew their American Express Platinum card. Although travel might not be yet an option for most, you can use this credit well into the future. And if your renewal is coming up, definitely call in to see if they have any retention offers. Most people who are renewing for first time, or those who didn’t receive an offer last year, are getting some sweet bonuses.

If you already renewed before the end of July, this credit should be in your accounts already.
