Update: Chuck at DoC reports that gift cards will also trigger the bonus. He tested it out with gift card purchases at Southwest, American and Delta and they worked. MommyPoints also reports success with a United gift registry purchase. This would be a great option to lock in the savings if you don’t have any immediate travel plans.
