Alaska Airlines, 50% Off on Awards for Select Routes
Alaska Airlines is currently offering some round trip award fares for half the normal cost. This doesn’t seem to be an advertised sale, and it could even be a glitch. But if you can get it to work with your travel plans, it can net you some serious savings on your Mileage Plan miles.
The discount seems to be working only for departure cities that have multiple airports and for round-trip fares. You need to fly out of one airport, and return to another. So for a NYC to Seattle trip for example, you need to fly out of JFK and return to EWR. It’s not clear what dates and what destinations will work. But you can play around with your searches. This works on Main and First Class cabin, but for domestic flights only.
In the image above, each leg is originally priced at 15,000 Alaska miles each way. But once you select your flights, the total only shows 15,000 plus taxes for both legs ($5.60 each way). Both legs should be priced the same for this to work. These are some of the routes where you can get the discount:
