Airbnb has been trying to disrupt the entire travel industry after successfully becoming a major player in the hotel industry at first. They have now added the ability to book restaurant reservations directly through its app in just more than a dozen U.S. markets. This comes after they launched Airbnb Experiences. last year.
Airbnb’s restaurant reservations are going live through a partnership with Resy, the restaurant reservations platform. In the Airbnb app, you can click a new tab for Restaurants and search for businesses in 16 US cities to book a table without leaving the app.
The restaurants presented on Airbnb’s app will be curated by Resy, and the companies are considering offering special features like prix fixe menus only for Airbnb travelers. Airbnb is also working on translations about featured restaurants for international travelers in the U.S.
Right now, in-app restaurant reservations are available in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Miami, Charleston, Austin, Seattle, Denver, Portland, Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashville. International destinations will be added in the coming months, Airbnb said in its blog post.
If you don’t have an Airbnb account, you can sign up here to get a $40 travel credit.
