There’s a new Aeroplan transfer bonus promotion. If you have points from hotel loyalty programs and you’re unsure what to do with them, now’s your chance to convert them into Aeroplan Miles! You’ll even receive a 25% bonus when you convert them before Apr. 16, 2018. Convert as many hotel loyalty program points as you like, as often as you like, but there’s a minimum of 5,000 points per transfer in order to get that 25% bonus. - Bonus offer valid only on conversions received from eligible hotel partner loyalty programs points into Aeroplan Miles made between March 12 and April 16, 2018 (11:59 EDT).
- Bonus Aeroplan Miles will be issued by Aeroplan as follows: once the total Aeroplan Miles are earned by exchanging points from any combination of eligible partner programs during the promotion, the bonus miles deposited will represent 25% of the total miles earned from the exchange
- Bonus Aeroplan Miles may take up to 4-6 weeks to be credited after the promotional offer end date of April 16, 2018.
- The total amount of miles received from the conversion of hotel loyalty program points into Aeroplan miles must be greater than or equal to 5,000 Aeroplan Miles in order to be eligible to receive the 25% bonus.
Guru’s Wrap-Up
This offer doesn’t make sense for most hotel partners since they have terrible transfer rates and this is not evemn the best transfer bonus they have offered. We’ve seen 30% and 35% in the past. SPG is likely the only viable option since you get a 1:1 rate and a 5,000 points bonus for every 20,000 points transferred. So if you transfer 20K Starpoints you get 31,250 Aeroplan miles. Still this promotion is best just for topping off your account with a redemption in mind in my opinion.
