Alaska and Hawaiian Add Seattle Flights to Osaka and Tahiti
Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are expanding their international network from Seattle with two new nonstop routes to Osaka, Japan and Papeete, Tahiti.
Both routes will be operated by Hawaiian Airlines using Airbus A330 aircraft, and both are expected to launch in spring 2027. The new routes are part of Alaska’s bigger plan to turn Seattle into a global gateway with at least 15 long-haul international destinations by 2030. Osaka and Papeete will join other long-haul destinations already announced from Seattle, including London, Tokyo, Seoul, Rome, Reykjavík, Athens and Paris.
Seattle to Osaka
The new Seattle (SEA) to Osaka (KIX) route will launch on May 14, 2027 and operate four times per week year-round.
The schedule is:
- SEA to KIX: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- KIX to SEA: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
Hawaiian already flies between Honolulu and Osaka and will continue operating that route as well.
Seattle to Papeete
The new Seattle to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) route will start on June 11, 2027 and operate three times per week year-round.
The schedule is:
- SEA to PPT: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
- PPT to SEA: Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
The new service should also make it easier to connect onward to islands such as Bora Bora and Moorea, with same-day connections available through the combined network.
Airbus A330 Service
Both new routes will use Hawaiian Airlines’ Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Passengers can expect:
- Lie-flat Business Class Suites
- Free Starlink Wi-Fi for Atmos Rewards members
- Premium Class seating
- Hawaiian Airlines meals and onboard service
- Alaska Lounge access in Seattle for eligible Business Class passengers
Hawaiian’s A330 fleet is also scheduled to begin getting refreshed interiors starting in 2028.
Introductory Fares
To celebrate the new routes, Alaska and Hawaiian are offering introductory round-trip Main Cabin fares from Seattle starting at:
- $999 round-trip to Papeete
- $1,199 round-trip to Osaka
These fares are available through October 26, 2026, subject to availability.
