2025 Audience Survey
Table of Contents
I ran an end of year survey to learn more about those who read and support the site. The survey received a total of 141 responses within one week. While that’s a very small number compared to how many people read the site, or are part of our Facebook Group, it should still give us some valuable insight.
The survey includes things like age and income, nearest airport, and then number of cards, miles earned and burned in 2025, cash earned from churning, trips taken and what other sites, channels and podcasts readers follow.
Let me know what/if you find interesting!
Age
The 35โ39 age group is the largest segment, making up nearly 19% of the audience. The core of readers falls between 30 and 60, with a lower presence in the younger (20s) and older (70+) demographics.
Credit Score
As you would expect, the survey shows a highly credit-worthy audience, with an overwhelming majority falling into the highest possible credit tiers. Here are the quick stats:
- Average Score: 800
- Median Score: 804
- Score Range: 680 โ 850
That means that 64.3% of our readers have exceptional credit and almost everyone else (34.1%) has a very good credit score.
Household Income
So now let’s take a look at household income. The survey reveals an affluent audience, with the vast majority of households earning six-figure incomes. Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Bracket: $150,000 โ $199,999 (24.2%)
- Six-Figure Earners: 94.7% of the audience earns $100,000 or more annually.
- High Earners: 15.2% of readers earn over $400,000, with several respondents earning $1M+.
Nearest Airport
Here’s a fun one, a map of our readers based on their closest airport:
Top airports include:
- EWR (Newark), JFK (New York), & DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth): 7 each.
- ORD (Chicago O’Hare) & SFO (San Francisco): 6 each.
- LAX (Los Angeles): 5
- BOS (Boston): 4
- TPA (Tampa), DEN (Denver), & MCO (Orlando): 3 each.
Number of Players
Churning credit cards and bank bonuses is a numbers game. So the more players you have in your team, the better your return.
As you’d expect, most readers are in 2-Player mode, 65% of them. Then 26% are in 1-Player mode. And I’m really jealous of that one person who’s got a team of 5!
Total Number of Credit Cards
I’m happy to report that the survey highlights an audience of serious points and rewards enthusiasts. While the average consumer holds roughly 3โ4 credit cards, DDG readers are operating at a much higher level, with many managing expansive portfolios to maximize travel benefits.
Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Range: 6โ10 cards (24.1% of readers)
- High-Volume Portfolios: Over 52% of readers hold 15 or more credit cards.
- The “Power Users”: Nearly 10% of respondents manage 31+ cards, including one reader with over 50.
Credit Cards Opened in 2025
Continuing with credit cards, we now take a look at how active our readers were in 2025. I should have done a better job with the options provided in the survey, but I didn’t except that many readers to be over 10 new cards for the year.
Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Answer: 10+ new cards (25.4% of readers)
- High-Velocity Acquirers: Over 50% of readers opened 6 or more new cards in 2025.
- The “Slow & Steady” Group: Only 8.2% of readers opened just a single card this year.
Total Miles/Points Earned in 2025
And now let’s get into the juicy rewards. We first look at how many miles and points readers earned in total this year from credit cards, portals, deals, spending offers etc. I was happily surprised (and a bit jealous at some of them) to see an audience that consists of “Points Millionaires.” And that’s just points earned in 2025.
Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Bracket: 1M โ 2M points (27.9% of readers)
- The “Millionaire” Club: 34.1% of readers earned 1 million points or more this year.
- Massive Earners: 8 readers (6.2%) earned a staggering 2M โ 3M points in 2025.
Total Miles/Points Burned in 2025
I’m also happy to see that readers are not just sitting on those miles and points they earn. The survey shows they are equally aggressive about spending them. Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Redemption Range: 100K โ 250K points (26.0% of readers)
- High-Value Travelers: 22.1% of readers redeemed over 1 million points in 2025.
- The “Earn & Burn” Champions: One reader managed a staggering redemption of 3M โ 4M points.
Number of Trips in 2025
This is a vague question as I didn’t specify what types of trips qualify. But hopefully every trip that was taken was to a destination you love.
You guys are moving at a rate far exceeding the national average. While the typical American traveler takes roughly 2.1 trips per year, our readers’ “floor” starts where most people’s “ceiling” ends.
Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Bracket: 3โ5 trips (39.4% of readers)
- “Road Warriors”: 13.1% of readers took 11 or more trips in 2025, essentially traveling once a month or more.
- “Global Nomads”: 5 readers (3.6%) reported a staggering 20+ trips this year.
How Much Did You Earn from Churning
This incudes 2025 cash earning from churning credit cards, bank offers, and other deals without including the miles and points reported in the previous question.
The survey reveals that “churning” is a significant secondary income stream for our readers. While many treat it as a way to fund free travel, a substantial group is generating serious cash.
Here are the quick stats:
- Average Earner: Most readers fall into the Less than $1K to $5K range (60.3% combined).
- The “Semi-Pros”: 15.7% of readers earned between $10,000 and $20,000 in pure profit this year.
- The “Whales”: 2 readers reported earning over $50,000.
Rating Ourselves
Readers rated themselves on the level on expertise in the churning hobby, on a scale of 1-5. You rated yourself at an average of 3.37 out of 6. Not bad!
Here are the quick stats:
- Most Common Rating: 4 out of 5 (41.0% of readers)
- The “Power User” Core: Over 82% of readers rate themselves as a 3 or higher.
- The Experts: 11 readers (7.9%) consider themselves true “Masters” (Rating: 5) of the points and miles game.
What Else Do You Read?
I asked our readers to share what other websites, podcasts, YouTube channels, Facebook Groups and other media they follow besides DannyDealGuru. I’m definitely looking into many of these myself now, as I had never heard of them. Hopefully they will give you more resources as well.
