The Reserve by Citi Travel
In the leaked details of the new Citi Strata Elite credit card, it has also been revealed that Citi will launch “The Reserve”. This is a curated collection of 4.5- and 5-star hotels and resorts.
The program is similar to The Edit from Chase, FHR from American Express or the newly launched Bilt Home Away from Home platform. The Reserve is now live and it gives you all the benefits of the Hotel Collection, plus some deluxe extras.
Citi Travel contains a large selection of both chain and boutique hotels. Citi Travel has recently added Omni as the first major Reserve and Hotel Collection partner. This addition has brought in 49 properties across both Collections, including the renowned Omni PGA Frisco Resort, where guests can experience the luxuries of the resort and the life of a professional golfer, among other lavish offerings.
What Benefits You Get with The Reserve?
When you book a hotel with The Reserve rate at checkout, you will receive daily breakfast for two, complimentary Wi-Fi, an experience credit (which can be used on many on-property purchases ranging from food to spa treatments), early check-in and late checkout, and the possibility of a complimentary room upgrades.
The Reserve by Citi Travel will give Citi Strata Elite, Citi Strata Premier and Citi Prestige cardmembers the following benefits:
- $100 Experience Credit (varies by property): The complimentary $100.00 Experience Credit is determined by each hotel and shall be valued at $100.00 (USD). Please contact the hotel directly to inquire about what services are included with the $100.00 Experience Credit. The $100.00 Experience Credit may be in the form of a credit or gift card, provided directly by the hotel. Advanced reservations are recommended for certain $100.00 Experience Credits and you should contact the hotel directly for more information and in order to obtain reservations, if required. If you are unable to utilize the $100.00 Experience Credit or do not use it in its entirety, no refunds will be provided, and the remaining balance will be forfeited. Back-to-back stays within 24 hours at the same hotel are considered one stay. Benefits shall be awarded once per stay. If the $100.00 Experience Credit and other benefits are not consumed during the eligible stay, no refunds or compensation shall be provided to you.
- Room Upgrade (upon availability): Room Upgrades are based on availability and only certain hotel room categories may be available for upgrade.
- Daily Breakfast for Two: Daily Breakfast for Two is included and may be provided directly by the hotel or in the form of a gift card or credit.
- Complimentary Wi-Fi: Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided, with the exception of select hotels, where Wi-Fi is included as part of a mandatory daily resort fee or is not available. If Wi-Fi and breakfast are included as a standard amenity of the hotel, no additional compensation or amenity will be provided to you.

To receive these benefits, you must book through Citi Travel and select a hotel room rate offered by The Reserve at check-out.
The Reserve benefits are subject to change, availability, may vary by hotel and benefits cannot be redeemed for cash and may not be combined with any other offers. Benefits must be used during the stay booked and may not be used at a later date. Benefits are available only when you book with Citi Travel® using your eligible Citi card. How to Book with The Reserve by Citi Travel?
To reserve your room, begin by logging onto Citi Travel or on the Citi Mobile® App using your Citi Online User ID and password. Once there, enter your destination, travel dates, number of guests and number of rooms. On the results page, each property will have a tag indicating which tier of the program it corresponds to – look for the ones that say The Reserve.
Here’s an example where I searched for a one night stay in NYC in August. Three properties are part of The Reserve program.
You must select the room rate corresponding to The Reserve to receive the benefits. Once you’re ready to pay, you have the convenient option to pay for all or some of the stay with any combination of your ThankYou Points.
