Samsung Pay Gift Card Purchases Work for Shop Small Amex Offer
American Express currently has a Shop Small Amex Offer that gives you a $5 statement credit for every $10 that you spend at eligible merchants. You can do this up to 10 times per eligible American Express credit card.
Samsung Pay seems to be one of those merchants, at least when used for gift card purchases. They have a decent selection of gift cards, but only a few start at $10 denominations, such as GameStop, Starbucks, Google Play, Hooters, Bonefish Grill, American Eagle, Gap etc. They also have Best Buy and eBay starting at $15 and $25 denominations. They also have some gift card discounts, but nothing too good right now.
A purchase of a $10 GameStop Gift Card triggered the Amex Offer and I received the email immediately. Keep in mind that Samsung Pay limits you to 2 gift card purchases per day. You can also use the Fluz app for gift card purchases that trigger the Shop Small Amex Offer.
